Does WorkPane send my screen to the cloud?
No. Your Mac and iPad find each other on your own network and stream directly to each other. There are no WorkPane servers. The check is simple: disconnect your router from the internet and WorkPane keeps working.
What protects the connection?
Every stream is end-to-end encrypted. The first connection requires the six-digit PIN shown on your Mac, so only someone standing at your Mac can pair with it. Every pairing is listed on the Mac and revocable at any time.
What permissions does it need, and why?
Each permission maps to a feature you can see. Screen Recording: to capture the windows you stream. Accessibility: to deliver your taps and typing. Local Network: to find your Mac. Camera and microphone on the iPad: only for passthrough. There is no telemetry to feed.
How do I know the installer is safe?
It's signed and notarized. Apple has scanned and stapled it, and macOS verifies that before installing. And before the uninstaller removes anything, it shows you the complete list of what it will remove.

This website is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and collects nothing. Beta enrollment and iPad downloads run through Apple; Apple's privacy policy applies there. The Mac installer is a direct download: no sign-up, no email. That's the whole policy.
